My Bar

So I have always enjoyed beer, but my taste for more exotic beers has really only developed over the last 8 to 12 months. This process greatly increased with the acquisition of 'The Bar' about 3 months ago.

I found it on the trading post and instantly knew I needed it! This of course posed a couple of obvious problems, one; how to get it home? And two; where to put it?

Both were solved with relative ease considering it weighs close to 200 kilos. I managed to dismantle it enough to get it home in the back of the four wheel drive, and managed to clear the attic space out to accomodate it. Which of course posed the next problem; how to get this massive thing up the stairs. Somehow we managed it, the first beers at it were arguably the most refreshing I have EVER HAD!

Since then the room has undergone a significant transformation, a fresh coat of paint, cornices rehung, TV bought, Foxtel installed and the couch dragged up. This has changed my drinking considerably, whereas in the past I may have gone to the pub (I only live 100 metres away) to watch the soccer and have a few pints of Carlton, I'm now much more likely to have a wider array of beers at home in 'The Bar.' And it's cheaper too!

After the work that's gone into the room, it has become a great space to entertain mates and enjoy a couple of the finest beverages the world, or my beer shop, have to offer.

Stay tuned for some beer reviews, starting in the next couple of days! Keep the suggestions coming in! And remember it's always Beer O'Clock somewhere in the world!
